Kelly Gant (Master)
Kelly graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis with a BA in Communication Studies. Her background, prior to becoming a Pilates and Yoga instructor, includes working for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Advertising and Promotions, creating and managing an inner-city elementary literacy and social competency program and helping her husband build his software company.
Kelly's interest in the body arts began in her late 20's when she developed a chronic hip and back problem while training for endurance runs both on her own and through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. Also during her late 20's, Kelly began to develop symptoms of Fibromyalgia, which is a chronic pain illness that causes musculoskeletal and soft tissue pain as well as deep fatigue. Little did she know that these two events would change the course of her career and her life.
Kelly has been teaching Pilates for seven years and has reached her Master Teacher designation of 5000 hours. She was certified through the Body Arts and Science International 500-hour program in 2006. Kelly completed her 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher training (CYT 200) through CITYOGA in 2009. She has since had the privilege of studying with Paul Grilley and received her Yin Yoga: Practice and Theory Teacher Training certificate. She has attended several workshops with Matthew Sanford and completed his Level 1 training for Adapting Yoga for Disability. Kelly is a 200-hour certified reflexologist through the IUPUI Reflexology Certification program. She has a special interest in working with clients who are challenged with chronic illnesses or disabilities, older adults and children with special needs.
